Symphony

A musical experience just for you.

Symphony is an intimate concert, performed by two singers and array of tuning forks, for one person at a time. The audience member sits, looking out at the view, while performers create a swirling sound world around them, just inches from their ears… a mixture of close-harmonising voices and other-worldly metal forks.

“Like being whispered to by angels.” - Security Guard, Sanctum.

The piece was originally made for a specific location looking out across the river in Olympic Park, London (commissioned by The Yard Theatre). It has since been performed on the roof of the National Theatre, on the main stage in an empty auditorium at Bristol Old Vic, and in the forest at Latitude Festival, as well as secret performances during Sanctum in Bristol (video below).

Composed and performed by Verity Standen, with Ellian Showering.
